Farsund

It handles approx. 400,000 tonnes of goods over the quay annually in Lundevågen, divided into approx. 700 ship calls. Hence approx. 300,000 tonnes of goods and approx. 100 calls to/from Alcoa quay. In addition, there are 25 storage spaces for vessels of different sizes.

Leasing of quays, outdoor areas and buildings aimed at the oil and energy sector accounts for over 90% of the turnover. The capacity of the quays, warehouses and outdoor areas in Lundevågen is currently very much utilised.

Remaining activities are mainly aimed at the dry bulk market (timber, sand, shingle and asphalt). There is currently no regular traffic with containers, general cargo traffic in Farsund harbor on the public quay.

Lundevågen, Farsund

The world's largest seismic port

Lundevågen currently has 7 ISPS quays with depths of up to 15 meters and the possibility of taking 400 meter long ships to the quay. With a turnover of close to NOK 17 million a year (2020) and handling of 400,000 tonnes of goods a year, the port is a medium-sized port by Norwegian standards, but can boast the title "World's largest seismic port".

Here, over the past decade, a world-leading base for seismic vessels has been built up. Annually, the logistics for over 40 seismic ships are handled in Farsund and Lyngdal harbour.

The ships come in from a completed mission, are demobilized and then mobilized again to be prepared for new missions. This is a process that takes 2 to 4 weeks and involves several hundred professionals from all corners of the world each time. Sometimes the ships are "parked" for a period between missions. Then the ships are put into storage with shore power and skilled local professionals from all over Lister.
