ISPS Code – International Ship and Port Facility Security Code.

These are the international regulations for securing ships and port facilities adopted by the United Nations Maritime Organization (IMO) on 12 December 2002, and apply to port facilities serving the following ships in international traffic:

a) passenger ships, including high-speed passenger ships,
b) cargo ships, including high-speed cargo ships, with a gross tonnage of 500 or more, and
c) mobile drilling devices that are moved using their own propulsion machinery.

All ships that have an international safety certificate (ISSC) are at all times considered to be on international voyages.
